This two-day March Break program invites youth to explore Indigenous teachings through hands-on art-making and cultural learning. Participants will engage in screen printing to create their own orange shirt while learning about its significance and the importance of remembrance, awareness, and reconciliation. Youth will also learn basic weaving and braiding techniques to create a leather keychain, exploring the history and cultural meaning behind these practices.
Through creative making, guided discussion, and shared learning, this program offers a welcoming space for curiosity, reflection, and artistic expression. No prior art experience is needed—just an openness to learn and create.
This program is made possible through the generous support of Halifax Stanfield Airport’s Uplifted program.
