Description

Join us on Friday, November 21st for a dynamic PD Day workshop led by Juno-nominated reggae singer Jah’Mila!

In this session, youth will explore the world of live event production and performance, learning how to craft powerful, engaging, and memorable live shows. Participants will dive into performance techniques, stage presence, and the creative choices that bring music and storytelling to life in front of an audience.

A beacon for Jamaican music and culture in the Maritimes, Jah’Mila's music blends traditional roots with elements of jazz and soul. She has toured with legendary reggae acts like The Wailers, Black Uhuru, and Groundation, and collaborated with orchestras including the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony Nova Scotia. Her Juno-nominated debut album, Roots Girl (2022), is both a celebration of her cultural roots and a platform for social advocacy.

This workshop is in partnership with Prismatic Arts Festival, and offers youth an exciting opportunity to learn from a skilled performer, develop their confidence on stage, and see what goes into creating a live show that leaves a lasting impression.
