Power Your Voice!

Power your voice, power your thoughts, feelings and emotions through songwriting and musical exploration! If you’re interested in poetry, spoken word, storytelling or music in any form, this space is for you! 

Power Your Voice is a program designed to help youth discover themselves, create freely and strengthen talents. Over the course of 4 weeks, youth will be guided through the process of songwriting and will develop skills and learn tools to help turn their thoughts and ideas into music and art. Based on the interests of the participants, various art forms will be explored for creating, such as singing, rapping, creative writing, spoken word, and poetry. Some of the writing and creation tools that will be explored during the program include improvisation, song structure & form, rhyme schemes, skeleton melodies and more.

Please note that this is a virtual program, and participants will be sent a zoom link upon registration. If internet access is a barrier, youth are welcome to come to the MacPhee Centre and attend the virtual sessions using the centre's computers.
